Scholarship Opportunities:
**Currently accepting applications for the 2011/2012 school year. Please contact me for additional information and/or to apply for a scholarship**
Each scholarship covers 30 minutes of lesson time per week. A scholarship can be used to provide full assistance for a 30 minute weekly lesson (student pays $0) or partial assistance for a 45 or 60 minute weekly lesson (student pays $12.50 per 45 minute lesson or $25 per 60 minute lesson). Lesson times and locations are arranged individually with each scholarship recipient. Scholarship students will be asked to keep daily/weekly practice journals and assist with one studio recital per semester.
To qualify for a scholarship, students must have extenuating circumstances preventing them from pursuing cello lessons. Additionally, they must demonstrate a desire to learn and a commitment to study the cello.
To apply for a scholarship, students should write two or three paragraphs describing why music and the cello are important to them. Additionally, the students' parent(s)/guardian(s) should write a letter confirming the family has extenuating circumstances that prevent the student from pursing cello lessons. Applications for 2011/2012 scholarships will be due prior to the start of Fall Semester 2011, on a date to be determined once the BVSD calendar is published.
